farming is were..example:- example of farming is were you find a bosses item that you like and you continuely kill that boss until he drops his "green"

thats the general jist of farming...

or you could farm a specific item - desolation sword for example...

thats roughly it in lamens terms...hope that sort of helps ()

farming in guild wars doesnt mean planting plants...
it means killing monsters to get cash or to get items and then sell them at the merchant.

Farming sucks now, it takes too long for too little gold.

Play through the game, make some gold, maybe hundred k or so.

Farm to get some more for a while.

When you have a nice amount few hundred k or so, power trade.

Learn prices first by looking on ventaris sell and in-game.

I couldnt recommend power trading enough.

edit: for farming builds check farming subforum

Farming can still be profitable if you know the market and know where to go. You also need to be able to go by yourself without henchies or heroes to get maximum drops. Go to places with a lot of rune drops. Blue, Purple, or Gold can all be very profitable if you know the value of the runes and insignias and what you can get for them at the rune trader. Expert salvage the most valuable one first. Minor Tactics, Minor Healing, and some others can get you 1K each or more. There are others. Weapon drops with max upgrades like +30 sword pommels or 20/20 sundering go for a lot as well but you need to sell those to players. You can expert salvage certain things as well to get steel which goes for a bit. Keep an eye on material prices. Right now, scales will sell for about 120 for 10 at the material trader. Find out what is pricey and then go to areas that drop it and farm for it.
